Our life, our world

We only have one World. We need to protect it for us, for our children and for our children children.
Our vision is that all people will live together in peace and respect.

What is your vision of a future world?

Looking at my small town, we are not so far away from your vision. But looking at the whole world I agree, we are far away to live together in peace.
What could I do? I mean - I'm only one out of more than 7 billion living on our earth.

I don't believe that this will work. Not now and not somewhere in the future. The people are too different. It might be possible in smaler areas like Mitch's small town but not all over the world.

"I have a dream that my little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

Words from Martin Luther King more than 50 years ago - but unfortunately it's still a dream. Also from myself.

    2015 is a historical year:
70 years after the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki
    15 years after 9/11

My vision is that this will never happen again. But I don't think I'll ever see the day.

My vision is, that we could have a decade without a war where the US army is involved. In the past 100 years this hasn't been the case.
Some - few - examples of the last 10 decades:
    1910-20: World War I
    1920-30: Occupation of Nicaragua
    1930-40: Occupation of Haiti
    1940-50: World War II
    1950-60: Korean War
    1960-70: Vietnam War
    1970-80: Vietnam War
    1980-90: Invasion of Panama
    1990-2000: Gulf War
    2000-10: Iraq War
    2010-today: War in Afghanistan
Everything far away from my home town and I'm not really afraid that this will influence me personally. But my vision for the millions of refugees all over the world is that they could have a peacefull life just as I have.

    Imagine there's no countries
    It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
    And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace, you
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one

These words from John Lennon came into my mind when I read your blog. It's one of my famos songs and even if he wrote it more than 40 years ago it could have been written also today.

I also have some words for you from my famous song:
    Heal The World
    Make It A Better Place
    For You And For Me
    And The Entire Human Race
    There Are People Dying
    If You Care Enough
    For The Living
    Make A Better Place
    For You And For Me

Michael Jackson wrote it in 1990 and it is the song he was most proud to have created.

Where God is born, hope is born. Where God is born, peace is born. And where peace is born, there is no longer room for hatred and for war. Yet precisely where the incarnate Son of God came into the world, tensions and violence persist, and peace remains a gift to be implored and built. May Israelis and Palestinians resume direct dialogue and reach an agreement which will enable the two peoples to live together in harmony, ending a conflict which has long set them at odds, with grave repercussions for the entire region.

In my thoughts I'll be with you.
My son was killed in Iraq three months ago at age 27. Afterwards I found myself pondering my responsibility for his death.
Among the several of messages that I have received, two bore directly on this question. Both held me personally culpable, insisting that my public opposition to the war had provided aid and comfort to the enemy. Each said that my son's death came as a direct result of my antiwar writings.
Finally, I lost my son to a war I oppose. We were both doing our duty.

My vision of a sustainable future is when citizens are concerned enough about the environment that they want to make a difference. It will happen when diverse groups from industry, environment, schools, service clubs, business, governments & the public come together and work towards a common vision of sustainability for our communities - balancing the needs of human and natural systems.

  • #38

    Julie (Monday, 09 May 2016 00:14)

My visions, I hope not utopian, on a beautiful sustainable world:
A world where love really is powerful and leads mankind. Where mankind reaches for love not for power.

Children in this world would be loved, would not suffer abuse, hunger and all, children, men and women, would have the possibility to grow, to study, to improve, to live peacefuly and serenly.

Religious and cultural differences would be nurtured and respected. Just as between friends, brothers and sisters, husbands and wives, parents and kids, etc., rich countries would really help develop poor countries without anything in exchange, not for the usual quest of power but for giving.

    No wars.
We are living in a time where a strange confusion seems to take space where hopes used to be. I was standing on the South Tower on September 8th with my 2 years old son and husband. Hard to talk about how the world is suffering since, and before then, and what is coming next...looks tremendously dark ahead. Visions, visions, visions... let's love and happiness be in all our little lives and it will perhaps glow and pervay all around and make these utopian thoughts come true one day.

My vision is of a time and place where all races are equal whether black or white, red or yellow. A world without war where people on the streets are smiling and happy... everyone with food, clean water and shelter at night.
A time where blacks and whites both within and outside my country work together to develop and grow so that the standard of living will gradually rise for everyone.
My vision is of a world at peace.

My vision of a sustainable future is somewhat foggy as I believe as Einstein does that today's problems cannot be solved using the technology that created them. So I believe we need a new way of thinking and behaving to achieve a sustainable future. We need to evolve our global consciousness and our perception of connectedness as a whole. I believe global organizations such as the United Nations need to lead the way in developing a vision and governance structure for a truly sustainable planet that levels the playing field for countries at varying levels of development. The UN has already developed the charter of humans rights. Perhaps we need to develop a similar charter for a sustainable future and work towards its acceptance and enforcement by the citizens of Earth.

My vision is of a world free of war, hatred, and greed. It is a world in balance with nature, a place where poverty and starvation have been abolished and replaced with equality for all. It is a time where we have liberated ourselves from the grip of racism and discrimination and embrace individual and cultural diversity. I see a future in which we meet the basic needs of every man, woman, and child and extend to all the opportunity to realize their hopes and dreams for a better life. It is a vision where education and health are accessible to everyone and where all human beings share in clean water and air. Adverse impacts on the quality of our planets resources have been minimized, and our living standards no longer threaten the earth's life-support systems. It is a time where we work towards preserving the environment to ensure that our children will inherit a world rich in biodiversity. We have changed our attitudes towards her species and have learned to respect all creatures with whom we share the earth. We now cherish and protect wildlife and their natural habitats, and their continued existence is no longer imperiled by our activities. I see a future where we have shifted away from our desire for power and instead work together in mutual cooperation towards happier and healthier lifestyles for all citizens on Earth. We have learned to limit our consumption, and money no longer governs our choices and actions. It is a time where technology and institutional change no longer endanger the fragile ecosystems we inhabit and instead serve to enhance both the present and the future. My vision is of a world filled with hope and peace. My vision is of a world in harmony.

Enlightenment is a state of no-mind, with awareness but no thoughts.
You cannot organise such a state into any sort of "society". In fact, enslavement-society as we know it is the pure anathema of Enlightenment.
All those who were really enlightened (Buddha, Osho, etc.) , were precious single individuals who were working hard on removing the crap out of their consciousness - crap, which was added by society from earliest childhood.
Thus, don't call yourself "enlightened society". You may know some secrets about your foolish money, i.e. that it is deliberately withheld from the beginning and that humanity is forced into enlsavement by its' deliberate withholding - but these foolish secrets of poisoning, indoctrination and befooling people with money and lies are not to be put into the category of "Enlightenment". Period.

We need to bring back philosophy. The reason our societies are so distraught is because people have lost sight of what really matters. We no longer care about what goes on in the deep parts of our minds, so we let ourselves become devoured by the subconscious.

Conflict resolution is best approached through artfully communicating solutions that allow all parties to progress forward. My vision of the ideal world is where anyone who is worthy, has the means or the power to find the truth about or world. I don't want to live in place where skill and intelligence only gets rewarded with more lies and deception. I want to live in a place where these kind of attributes get rewarded, i want to live in a world where if you work hard enough you will get rewarded. Nowadays doesn't matter what you are if you aren't apart of any secret society or if you don't have at least money or power you won't be able to get anywhere . I want Freedom.

My how deep we have fallen, if ever we have climbed at all
When barely just, the thought is hardly free
    Knowledge costs, astronomically

My vision is that people first learn to see with their eyes. Those who look only observe appearance. To move forward one must see the reality of what is preventing them from observing the truth. If the majority of populations learn to see what's behind the veil of appearance, amends can be made for want of a better future. Peace.
